GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE:

This photograph illustrates the cathedral of an ancient Coptic Christian monastery in the city of Wadi-El Natroun, Egypt. The monastery dates back to the 4th century, however the large cathedral pictured was built within the last decade. The Cathedral is able to hold over 3000 congregation members and when viewed from above represents a cross.

ORIGINAL BEAUTIFUL PHOTO:

The Golden Gate bridge is a suspension bridge which overlooks the channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean in the United States. The bridge is over 2.7 km long and 200 meters tall. This photo was taken on a visit to the United States in 2011. The Golden Gate bridge has also appeared as a landmark in several movies and TV-shows such as Superman and Terminator.

MY CREATIVE PIECE:

I made this sketch late last year when I was enrolled in the Architectural History and Theory 1 class (ARCH1121). It illustrates the Arch of Constantine located in the city of Rome. It was erected in 315 A.D. as a commemoration to Emperor Constantine battle in war. The layout of the main façade is identical on both sides and all three of its arch express the same ratio of height and width.
